The chances of Borodin's extradition from the USA to Switzerland are increasingly high, said a lawyer of the State Secretary of Russia-Belarus Union Genrikh Padva. Padva also expressed concerns that Borodin's attorneys would not be able to avail themselves of the still existing opportunities because of the rapid deterioration of relations between Russia and the USA. Next hearings on Borodin's extradition to Switzerland are slated for April 2. Earlier, the federal judge of the New York Court refused to release the Russian official on bail, RIA Novosti reports. Pavel Borodin has been kept in the Brooklyn detention centre of New York since last January when he was apprehended at the demand of Swiss prosecutors. Borodin is charged with violating the Swiss law.
