The FBI is investigating the mysterious disappearance of 57-year-old Professor Don Wiley, professor of biology at the University of Harvard, Massachusetts. His investigations made Professor Wiley an expert in deadly tropical diseases, such as Ebola.
The FBI believe Professor Wiley’s investigation could be the cause behind his death. The last time he was seen was at an official meeting at the Hospital of Ninos St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee, on 16th November. His car, with a tank full of fuel, was found abandoned on a bridge over the river Mississippi, with the keys in the ignition and without any signs of violence.
His wife, Karen Valgeirsdottir, declared in an interview to the Boston Globe that the nature of his work was not a secret because “most of his works are available in books and on the Internet”. Family members claim that the disappearance of Professor Wiley is extremely suspicious.
Professor Wiley won an international prize in Japan in 1999 for his work on how the immune system protects the human being from infection. He is also an expert in how the Ebola, HIV and Influenza viruses attack the human body. His work included investigations into the deadly Spanish Flu which killed millions of people around the world in the first third of the Twentieth Century.
