Chairman of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Arkady Volsky has called for further partnership between entrepreneurs and the trade unions. He spoke at the fourth congress of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FITUR). According to Volsky, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions "are acting in one and the same direction." "Our organisation is acting not only in the interests of big business; our aim is to ensure adequate conditions for creative potential of private entrepreneurs," said Arkady Volsky. Our partnership with the trade unions will become the basis for the economic flourishing of the country," he emphasised. Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov believes the trade unions are very important in the process of democratic transformations of society and in establishing trust between government and workers.
