On Monday, the Russian finance ministry made a regular payment to the sum of 24.607 million dollars to pay off the debt to the IMF. The payment was made on schedule. This is the second planned payment this month. The previous one was made on December 7 to the sum of about 25 million dollars. The last payment for the current year is planned to be made on December 27 to the same sum. In accordance with the schedule of payments for 2001 Russia should pay to the IMF 2.067 billion dollars. The Russian debt to the IMF as of the end of October amounted to 8.347 billion dollars. According to preliminary estimates, on the results of the current year the debt to the IMF should reduce to 7.069 billion dollars. The IMF points out that Russia fully fulfils its obligations on payments to the Fund.
