Russian border guards seize 90 kg of drugs on Tajik-Afghan border

A smuggler with 90 kg of drugs was detained on the Tajik-Afghan border in the early hours of July 21, the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service's border group in Tajikistan told RIA Novosti.

This operation was carried out by Russian border guards and the anti-drug department of the Tajik Interior Ministry.

According to the press service, border guards noticed a group of trespassers crossing the Pyandzh River. Three trespassers escaped to Tajikistan under cover of darkness and one of them, a Tajik national, was detained. Four bags presumably with heroin were found on the scene.
