Police in Ufa, the capital of a federal republic in the South Urals, have detained a drug carrier who had over 2 kg of heroin on him, the Russian Interior Ministry's press service reported on today.
The 23-year-old local citizen was detained the day before on the operative information. According to the press service, the Ufa interior department received information about a drug dealer that had appeared in the city. A plain cloth policeman arranged to purchase a large amount of heroin from her. During the "transaction" the criminal was caught red-handed, and the police confiscated over 2 kg of heroin from her.
At present the police are carrying out investigation, finding out the sources of drug and channels of its sale.
On the whole, over the last 24 hours the police registered 22 cased of confiscating especially large amounts of drug substances in 15 regions of Russia, for example, about 2.5 kg of heroin and over one kg of opium, according to the Interior Ministry.
