Kurdistan's freedom and democracy congress disproves report that its armed forces wage war in Iraq
The office of the Kurdistan Freedom and Democracy Congress in the Commonwealth of Independent States has disproved media reports saying the Kurdish people's self-defense forces have joined American troops fighting with Iraq's regular forces.
The office's statement says the information is not true. It is either a lie, or a mistake in decoding the abbreviation of the party's name.
The office stresses that the KFDC leadership has more than once come up with statements denouncing the tackling of disputable questions by the use of force.
The statement also says that the KFDC people's self-defense units stationing in Northern Iraq have declared the territory they control the Midia self-defense region.
"After the bombings of Iraqi cities and forces, the bulk of refugees have found shelter in this region. They are getting humanitarian aid and are under the protection of our military organizations", the statement reads.
