All throughout the night, Albanian terrorists fired at government forces in the city of Tetovo and in a dozen of settlements next to it, where the driven out Macedonian population is supposed to return, said Sunday a representative of the Skopje police. In accordance with the plan developed by the government headquarters for crisis settlement, on Monday, police forces are to start returning to some of the settlements around Tetovo, Kumanovo, and Skopje, which were considered the least dangerous. Currently, the Macedonian Ministry of Internal Affairs opposes the idea of police returning to the areas of crisis. It says that armed militants from the officially disbanded Liberation National Army are still there. The leadership states that it is very risky to send police armed with only pistols and truncheons to settlements where Albanian terrorists are still present. The official representative of the Macedonian government, Gjiorgji Trendafilov, said that the authorities have information that 500 Albanian extremists are arriving to Macedonia from Kosovo.
