Operation To Place Giant-4 - Kursk Combination To Dock At Roslyakovo Starts

At 9:15 a.m., Moscow time, Sunday, the operation to place the barge Giant-4 and the Kursk nuclear submarine combination to the dry dock No. 50 at the village of Roslyakovo started, said head of the Northern Fleet press service Vladimir Navrotsky. According to Navrotsky, at present, the barge-submarine system is being taken off the four barrels keeping it afloat in Belokamennaya Guba, 1.5 km from the dock. When the preparations are completed, the system will start moving to the dry dock. The wind is 8-10 metres per second in the area of the operation and the waves are favorable, Mr. Navrotsky said.
