Georgia has confirmed the fact that airstrikes were performed on the Kodor gorge, the zone of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict. However, it was done in a peculiar manner - Tbilisi denies the fact that the aircraft belonged to Georgia. According to Georgian officials, the raid was performed by "undetected helicopters", and following that the "aircraft" directed towards the Klukhor pass. Several bombs fell 2 km away from the Omarishara village. Georgian officials are not confused by the fact that first they dealt with helicopters and later with aircraft. The Abkhazian side states, however, that Georgian aviation performed airstrikes at Abkhazian army units near the Naa village, killing one servicemen and injuring three others. Valery Arshba, Vice-President of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia told RIA Novosti over the phone that Tuesday at dawn Georgian aircraft had attacked Abkhazian army units located in the Gulripsh district of Abkhazia. Eye-witnesses say three Georgian assault-planes participated in the raid. Arshba said that so far Abkhazian authorities had not got in touch with Tbilisi in connection with the incident.
