Administrations of Moscow airports conducted a special test to check the level of anti-terrorist protection
Moscow airports underwent a test in anti-terrorist security. The Federal Inspectorate for Transport reported the results of the test: Domodedovo turned out to be not absolutely ready to fight terrorism and Sheremetyevo partially satisfied the anti-terrorism security requirements.
Head of the Inspectorate Alexander Neradko says that during the test a special group from the Inspectorate was to get to the guarded area of airports and then aboard a plane.
During the test, the pseudo-terrorists failed to get to the guarded area of the Vnukovo Airport; they managed to get to the guarded area of the Sheremetyevo Airport, however the attempt to get aboard a plane was prevented. The special group managed to pass to the guarded area of the Domodedovo Airport having imitations of goods prohibited for air transportation, and even got on board of two airplanes.
Alexander Neradko says the airport administration now takes measures to strengthen security of the airport. Airport personnel who allowed the pseudo-terrorists to the guarded area were later dismissed. The inspection was done two weeks ago.
