Court discharged father who killed his drug-addicted son

Tagilstroevsky district court in the city of Nizhny Tagil in the Urals issued sensational verdict: it discharged 58-year old Valentin Demidov who killed his son in December 2003.
The parents of the 30-year old drug addict – elderly steel-workers had to work hard to get $70-100 per day for their son who was buying drugs every day. Earlier the father paid much to doctors to cure the son, bought him an apartment and a car. The young drug addict quickly sold all this for drugs and continued requesting money from his parents.

At one point Valentin Demidov decided he had had enough, he his son’s head with cast iron frying pan several times, and then suffocated the son. After this the father tried to commit suicide, but relatives stopped him. Experts detected that the man was absolutely irresponsible when killing his son. The court did not make the man be treated in psychiatric clinic, but discharged him.
