The description of the item says that ZIL-41052 is one of the safest cars in the world
The duty vehicle, formerly used by Soviet and Russian ex-presidents, Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, is available for online purchase on a popular automobile website. The armored ZIL-41052 takes the 6th line on most expensive cars listed on the webpage in the “used cars for sale” section. The prestigious car is worth $600,000, whereas the price of the most expensive car on the list reaches almost a million dollars.
The description of the item says that ZIL-41052 is one of the safest cars in the world. US specialists could not unveil the secret of the Soviet super-vehicle prior to the perestroika period. When the USSR collapsed, they acquired the old ZIL vehicle and dismantled it. The secret turned out to be very simple. The traditional armoring technology implies the strengthening of the basic construction with armored details. Soviet engineers chose a different technology: they welded the armored capsule and then built the car on it. Such a construction is absolutely impossible in the serial production, but Soviet officials were not sorry to spend money on their own security.
President Putin currently uses an armored vehicle of the German production. American engineers, however, used the Russian technology for the production of the limousine for the American president, which was unfortunately left unclaimed in Russia.
The old presidential car is now exhibited in Moscow: it was purchased on a special tender from the special Kremlin garage last year. Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin could feel absolutely safe in the ZIL-41052 vehicle. Secured with B-7 class armor and bullet-proof windows, the car is capable of withstanding even a grenade blast. To crown it all, the 5,550- kilo vehicle can reach the speed of 190 km/h.
The person, who decided to acquire such a technical wonder, will be able to enjoy the complete comfort of the car: extending tables, natural leather upholstery, and a whole bouquet of other features. In addition, the legendary car carries a piece of priceless history.
