Saddam Hussein Thanks 11th Division for Defence of Nasiriya

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein thanked the 11th division for displaying courage and valour in the defence of Nasiriya. The official ceremony was shown on the Iraqi television which renewed broadcasting after the US-British bombardment.

Hussein also ordered to give 1 million dinar rewards to each of the families of the 11th division staff.

Fierce fighting has been reported in Nasiriya lately. But the U.S. and British forces have been unable to capture this south Iraqi city so far.
