In what can only get described as unusual, Martha Stewart has asked to be allowed to start her five month prison sentence.
Stewart was convicted of lying to investigators during the ImClone scandal and she was both fined and sentenced to prison. Stewart, at the time, said she would fight the conviction, but now has done a turn around.
Stewart commented “There are many, many good people who have gone to prison. Look at Nelson Mandela." But, a Nelson Mandela she is not.
Stewart is also trying to arrange where she will do her time – she prefers a prison in Florida because of its balmy climate, rather than the correctional facility in Virginia where the average winter temperature is 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
