Ukraine has fully lifted a ban on poultry imports from the US. This was announced on Monday, March 31 at a press conference in Kiev by Petr Verbitsky, the head of the Ukrainian State Department of Veterinary Medicine. Verbitsky said that US poultry can be freely sold on the Ukrainian market as long as the exporter presents the necessary veterinary certificate. The document should certify that the imported meat does not contain antibiotics or anti-microbial substances. The ban on US poultry imports was introduced on January 20, 2002.
