Putin responds to Obama's exceptionalism

Vladimir Putin responded to Barack Obama's remarks about Russia's status of a regional power.  As Putin said, this is his opinion, just like the opinion about the exceptionalism of the American nation.

"Attempts to discuss other countries in a derogatory fashion is an attempt to prove one's exceptionalism," Putin said. According to the Russian president, calling Russia a regional power is erroneous.

Commenting on Obama's remarks, Putin said that he wanted to know what region exactly the US president had in mind as Russia is a country of a vast territory.
