Do ideal husbands exist?

Is there such a thing as an ideal husband?

Yes! At least 57% of Italian women ages 20-60 are certain that “he cannot be totally unreal.” Italian monthly magazine Per me (the title literally translates as “For me”) has conducted a survey among its female readers. The magazine asked women to name three men who fit the concept the best.

According to the female populace of the Apennine peninsula (Italy), all three “Ideal husbands” turned out to be famous political figures. Today’s prime minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi appeared among the top three candidates. His main political rival, a real cutie with face of a Hollywood star Francesco Rutelli topped the chart.

Former mayor of Rome and present-day leader of a leftist bloc “Ulivo” managed to acquire 60% of votes. Head of Christian-democratic political party Marco Follini is a proud owner of the third place with 11% of female voters. All three candidates involved in the “battle” for the title of the “ideal husband” are obviously happily married and have grown children.

Well, what are the essential qualities this “ideal husband” has to posses? Seven out of ten Italian women claim he has to be “decent” and neat. According to a half of the respondents, an Ideal hubby has to satisfy all women's financial needs; he also has to be extremely caring and understanding of his beloved's needs.

18% of female respondents say they would like their Ideal husband to be sensitive and passionate as well.
