Days of Intellectual Property to Be Held in Russia

Days of intellectual property will be held in Russia on April 23-26.

According to the press ministry's press service, the project aims at "drawing the attention of the public and authorities to the necessity of increasing, protecting and rationally using intellectual property." The Days will be opened with a session of the Russian Book Union. The session of the intellectual property scientific council of the economic department of the Russian Academy of Sciences will also be held on the first day. The round table on "Enterprises and Intellectual Property" will be opened within the framework of the 4th International Forum Advanced Technologies of the 21st century.

An exhibition, Modern History of Piracy, and a scientific conference, "Intellectual property: from looting to enriching", will be held in the Press Ministry on April 24.

The conference on "Television in Russia" will be conducted in the days to come; the results of the competition in innovations - "Leader of the Development and Production of the Third Millennium's Advanced Technologies" - will be summed up.

The press service said that the centrepiece of the Days would be the fight against audio-, video- and software piracy.
