A Czech delegation has today begun an official visit to Karelia. The delegation is headed by Czech Ambassador to Russia Jaroslav Basta. According to Robert Yevtiukov, a consultant from the Karelian Ministry for Economic Development, the delegation includes representatives of leading Czech businesses interested in setting up economic partnerships with their Karelian counterparts.
The talks in Karelia will focus on possible supplies of Czech buses and road-building equipment, water and sewage piping and equipment, timber and metal processing lathes, equipment for the paper industry, amongst other things. There are also meetings planned with representatives of the Karelian legislative assembly and the Petrozavodsk town administration.
