Third International Naval Exhibition IMDEX-Asia-2001 Opened In Singapore

The 3rd international naval exhibition IMDEX-ASIA-2001 has opened in Singapore today. Taking part in it are more than 250 companies from 24 countries. At the IMDEX-ASIA-2001 Russia is represented by the Rosoboronexport state enterprise - the largest exporter of Russian arms and military hardware. The models of new submarines Amur hold central place in the Russian show. These submarines are fitted out with new weapons, including missiles, and have improved speed characteristics and higher secrecy due to the reduced noise of the engines. Russia has also displayed a broad spectrum of warships, equipped with the most up-to-date arms, at the exhibition. For instance, the Skorpion missile-artillery motorboat in the development of which the latest "stealth" technologies were used has attracted attention of foreign specialists.
