A meeting of the Security Council of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia on the territory of Georgia under its president Vladislav Ardzinba is being held in Sukhumi on Friday. As press secretary of the representation of Abkhazia in Mosccow Tatyana Gulia told RIA Novosti on Friday, a possibility of imposing the state of emergency in some regions of Abkhazia bordering on Georgia is being discussed at the meeting. Gulia explained that imposition of the state of emergency is linked with "the danger of an incursion of a group of militants into the republic from the territory of Georgia". In Abkhazia they also fear the appearance of separate groups of Chechen and Georgian militants in these regions, who can descend from the upper reaches of the Kodor Gorge to perpetrate terrorist acts.
