Secretary General of the Council of the European Union, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana "ardently welcomed the positive result of the voting" in Macedonian Parliament on the issue of constitutional amendments, Solana's secretariat announced Friday evening in Brussels. Solana thinks this resolution means choosing the way of peace and reconciliation, rejection of violence and confirmation of the country's belonging to European family of nations. Solana considers this valiant resolution demonstrates reliability of Macedonian democratic institutions and its people's determination to apply peaceful means for advancing towards peace and prosperity." Javier Solana promised that the European Union would double its efforts to implement Ochrid agreements and make help to Macedonia in its rapprochement with the EU one of its priorities.
