Growth Of Russian-Chinese Trade Turnover

On the results of 11 months of the current year the Russian-Chinese trade turnover grew by 27.9 percent in comparison with the same period of the last year and made up 9.29 billion US dollars, RIA Novosti was told at the Chinese main customs department. Thus, the record-high level of the last year has been already overcome. The Russian exports to China grew by 32 percent and is estimated at 6.9 billion dollars. Imports from the PRC to Russia increased by 17.5 percent and amounted to 2.39 billion dollars. Experts of the Russian trade mission in Beijing told RIA Novosti that it is quite possible that this year the total trade turnover between the two countries will reach 10 billion dollars and will become record-high in the entire history of Russian-Chinese economic relations. In December, according to them, business partners usually try to fully fulfil the earlier concluded contracts, and the remaining month will easily give the necessary addition to the 10-billion trade turnover. Russian experts also reported that this level was reached without taking into account the so-called non-organised trade of small wholesalers. According to expert estimates, the annual volume of shuttle trade makes up about 8-10 billion dollars.
