Esperantist Conference In Moscow

The 34th Open Conference of Esperantists opened in Moscow late in the evening on Monday. According to the vice president of the Moscow Scientific Esperanto Club Vadim Khmelinsky, the main objective of the event is to popularize Esperanto amidst Russian society and compile the fullest Russian-Esperanto and Esperanto-Russian dictionary possible. Forum organisers welcome all the difficulties arising during translation of lectures because each of them becomes the subject of work on the dictionary, said Khmelinsky. The program of the conference, which lasts until Friday, envisages lectures on different subjects, a round-table discussion on the problems of the international language, and a lexico-grammatical symposium.
