Large Lot Of Smuggled Fur Seized On Russian-Mongolian Border

Border guards from the Transbaikalian regional department of the Russian Federal Border Service /FPS/ have seized a large lot of smuggled fur on the Russian-Mongolian border, reported Colonel Oleg Titov, who heads the FPS press service, on Tuesday. On the night of November 27, two Mongols crossed the state border on horseback and joined three accomplices, two men from a border village and a Mongolian woman who legally entered the Russian territory the day before. The smugglers were detained by a duty detail from the Kyakhta border detachment with 7,000 marmot skins on their hands, which the FPS says is the largest lot of smuggled fur in 10 years. Law enforcers have opened a criminal case.
