An after wit is everybody’s wit. Let us take Moscow functionaries. They should have better beforehand analysed probable variants of the Sunday events. And there would have been no pogroms in Moscow, which the whole world saw June 9, thanks to TV workers.
The Moscow police made conclusions from what had happened: now, the policemen have been turned to an intensified variant of performance of duties. Moscowites’ quiet in the streets will be secured by more than 5 thousand policemen and servicemen of the internal troops.
OMON (Special Police Units) workers will be equipped with bullet resistance vest, helmets, rubber truncheons, and other special means, though they will be used only in the case of disorders. Special attention will be paid to the public places: Alexandr Garden and the whole territory adjacent to the Kremlin. The order will be additionally secured by rangers.
Policemen, including the rangers, will patrol traditional rest places of Moscowites: Sokolniki, Izmailovo, Kuzminki, and Park of the Victory in Poklonnaya Hill. Apropos, selling alcohol and even soft drinks in glass bottles will be forbidden.
Moscow vice-mayor, Valery Shantsev supposes that not only law-enforcers are responsible for security of the citizens, but the citizens themselves, too. According to him, the citizens should now understand what has happened, the city should rise to the fight with disorders, parents and grandparents should explain the children that they only abase themselves by participating in the disorders.
So, what do you think about it? The second person of the city recruits citizens to the fight with hooligans. Why then we need the police if they cannot secure the citizens from hooligans? Will the police hide themselves behind others’ backs?
