Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Tuesday Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov. According to presidential press secretary Alexey Gromov, the Minister reported to the President about the progress of military construction plan, as well as about implementation of 2002 arms purchasing plan. This refers to the State Defence Order, the Secretary added. In addition, Ivanov informed the President about the situation in Chechnya and military aspects of the situation around Afghanistan.
