Department On Fighting Economic Crimes Files Suits Against Leaders Of Russian Banks

The main department on fighting economic crimes under the Russian Interior Ministry is inspecting a number of Russian banks that received the so-called "gold credits". These credits were allocated to the Chukot autonomous region of Russia for the development of gold production. In particular, criminal cases were filed against the leadership of Presnya bank for the embezzlement of 15m rubles (about $501,000), against Kora bank for the misappropriation of more than 15m rubles (about $501,000) with the help of forged documents and Rossia-Mals bank for the embezzlement of 15.2m rubles (about $508,000).
