Russia to build new command and staff vehicle

Specialists of the United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation will use the Tiger-M armored vehicle as a basis to build a new command and staff vehicle for the Russian army.

According to UIMC press-secretary Sergei Suvorov, "the creation of the new vehicle on the basis of the Tiger-M vehicle reflects the need of the military to have more maneuverable units to supervise combat units. The Tiger-M gives a better view for the driver in comparison with armored personnel carriers. In addition, the vehicle has better opportunities for camouflage on the battlefield. To crown it all, it is simply smaller in size."

According to the Izvestia newspaper, the new vehicle on the basis of Tiger-M will ensure the safety of passengers, even when in the line of sniper fire. The vehicle will диу used near the lines of combat operations, where the main priority is mobility, rather than protection.
