The driver from the Russian Embassy in Baghdad, who was wounded in Iraq on Sunday, has been hospitalised in Damascus, a source in the Russian Embassy in Syria told RIA Novosti by telephone.
It is still unclear when will the wounded man and the people accompanying him, the Russian Ambassador to Iraq Vladimir Titorenko and another diplomat, leave for Moscow. "It depends on the driver's condition," said the source.
The group of Russian diplomats from Iraq headed by Vladimir Titorenko arrived in Damascus yesterday. Before that, the driver /who was wounded in an attack on the convoy of Russian diplomats and reporters/ had been staying in a hospital in Feluja, Iraq.
The source said the driver's condition was satisfactory.
Yesterday, Russia's deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov told journalists the wounded driver would be taken to Moscow in the next few days.
