Law-enforcers detained 15 and destroyed two bandits in Chechnya on October 2, Russia's interior ministry provisional press centre in the HQ of the joint group of federal forces in Khankala /eastern outskirts of Grozny/ reported Wednesday. According to the press centre, two armed residents of the Gekhi settlement fired at a mobile police group from a machine-gun and an automatic rifle. The federals opened return fire and destroyed the rebels. No casualties have been reported among the law-enforcers. The police detained three bandits in the Gudermes district. Nine people suspected of paramilitary activities have been detained in the Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny and the Nadterechny district. The provisional press centre in Khankala reported that the police had found some 125 kg of TNT in the Itum-Kala district of Chechnya. Besides TNT, the cache contained 30 metres of Bickford fuse and 63 electric detonators. In this connection, the police is checking the village in a bid to expose those involved with the found cache, the press centre noted.
