Spain - Primera Liga
A won for Real and a draw for Barcelona puts Mourinho's team seven points clear at the top of the Spanish Primera Liga. A draw for Valencia and a defeat for Levante means the pack closes tighter behind the top two, with Real threatening to fade away into the distance. Real Madrid had no problem in beating Zaragoza 3-1 at home while Barcelona was held 0-0 at Villarreal. Valencia drew 2-2 at Racing Santander while rivals Levante suffered a home defeat 1-2 to Getafe. Athletic (Bilbao) beat Rayo Vallecano 3-2 away and Atlético beat Osasuna in Pamplona 1-0.

Wins for Juventus and AC Milan means that the two teams are locked in combat for the Italian title after 20 games with Udinese losing all three points. Lazio pulls up into fourth while Inter, AS Roma and Napoli all lost points.
Juve beat Udinese 2-1 at home, AC Milan beat Cagliari 3-0 at home and Lazio had a useful 3-0 away win at Chievo. Inter Milan went down at Lecce 1-0, Roma drew 0-0 with Bologna, Genoa beat Napoli 3-2.

Bayern Munich beat Wolfsburg at home 2-0, Borussia Dortmund won 3-1 at home against Hoffenheim and Schalke thrashed Koln 4-1 away while Borussia Moenchengladbach came away from Stuttgart with three points, winning 3-0. Bremen and Leverkusen drew 1-1 and Hannover beat Nuernberg 1-0.

Benfica went to Feirense to win 2-1 and claim a valuable bonus of three points, while FC Porto went down 3-1 at Gil Vicente. SC Braga beat Marítimo (Madeira) 2-1, while SC Portugal had an easy home win 2-0 against Beira-Mar. Vitória SC beat Nacional (Madeira) 1-0 and Olhanense won 3-2 at Vitória (Setúbal).
