Washington satisfied with Russian-US energy cooperation - 2 October, 2002

The Russian-US energy summit elevates bilateral interaction to entirely new levels of cooperation and business opportunities, US Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham said, addressing the participants in the first Russian-American energy summit in Houston /Texas/.

The summit is being held due to Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and George Bush's innovative work on the establishment of new strategic relations between Russia and the USA, he stressed.

According to Abraham, Russian-US long-term energy cooperation will be carried out not only to develop Russia's great energy resources, but also to implement energy projects in both countries and all over the world.

The US Energy Secretary is convinced that Russian and US common approaches to national energy policy will create numerous possibilities for the growth of trade, investments and cooperation between the two countries.
