Bomb explodes under minibus in Turkey's Kurdish area

A roadside bomb killed 10 people and wounded 3 when it exploded under their minibus in southeast Turkey, where Kurdish militants are active, security officials said. The blast occurred near Gecitli in Hakkari Province, New York Times reports.

All were travelling in the minibus. It is not clear if the blast occurred inside the vehicle or if it had run over a mine.

It happened in the southeast of the country when the minibus was passing through the village of Gecitli near the borders with Iraq and Iran.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Last month, the separatist Kurdistan Workers Party declared a ceasefire in the region after many years of violence, according to euronews.
