The incident happened in the prison of Pekanbaru, Sumatra, on Monday, during the football match between Brazil and Belgium, which Brazil managed to win 2-0. Six prison guards were concentrating on the match around a television set when they were overpowered by a group of 48 prisoners, 16 of whom have since been captured.

The prison manager said that “The guards should not have been watching the game, but it is understandable”.
