Los Alamos National Laboratory is rocked by another lapse in security

In a recent inventory, storage devices containing sensitive and classified material cannot not be located.
This is another shocking disclosure that storage devices containing sensitive information have been publicly declared missing.  Pete Nanos, the Los Alamos National Laboratory director, has put a stop to all top secret work until the devices are found.

Nanos is quick to blame "cowboys" who are disobeying rules on the handling of sensitive material. And he also said "I don't care how many people I have to fire to make it stop".

Because other sensitive material has been lost, some high level people are speculating that this will be a fatal blow for Nanos’s career. Mean while Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham ordered two of his top people to personally oversee the lab inquiry.

Over the last year, employees couldn't find a recordable data storage device, nine floppy disks and a large-capacity storage disk containing classified information.
