Anti-Islamic outlook grows within American society

In 2003 more than 1,000 cases of discriminating Islamic people were registered in the USA, from refuse to hire them for a job to physical violence to Moslems.
In 2002 only 602 similar cases were registered, reported the Council of American-Islamic Relations. According to the Council, the attitude to Moslems became hostile after the attacks of 9/11 and is still extremely bad. Moslems think that adopting “Patriotic Act” contributed to worsening the attitude to Islamic people in the USA, because this Act is frequently used by the authorities as an excuse for having hostile attitude to Moslems.

The Council recommends the US Congress to have special investigation if the security measures adopted after 9/11 resulted in reducing civil liberties.
