Gorbatsjov opens exhibition about Russian landscape in The Netherlands

Michael GorbatsjovFormer President of the Soviet Union Michael Gorbatsjov has been invited to open an exhibition at The Groninger Museum in Groningen. Central in this exhibition are the works of Russian painters Ivan Sjisjkin, Isaak Levitan en Archip Koeïndzji. Work of these painters and a lot more Russian artists will be shown after 13 December till 18 April 2004.

In this museum the views of these artist and how they see the Russian Landscape will be shown to visitors. Gobatsjov, still very popular in the Netherlands, will open this exhibition. Last year the Groninger Museum had a huge winterseason. A display of the works of Ilja Repkin was an enormous success. Russia art is popular in the Netherlands.
