Why Does Denmark Sponsor Terrorists?

The World Chechen Congress  will inevitably mean a step back in Russia-Denmark relations

Despite  protests of the Russian Foreign Ministry against the World Chechen Congress, the forum still opened in Copenhagen. A RIA Novosti correspondent talked to a representative of the congress’ press-service, Ule Andersson, who said that 90 people were taking part in the congress, former Lithuanian President Landsbergis among them.

Before the congress opened, the Russian Foreign Ministry declared that if the forum was held in Denmark, it would be impossible to hold the Russia-EU summit in Denmark as well. Danish Ambassador to Russia Lars Vissing was summoned to the RF Foreign Ministry on Sunday. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Valery Loshchinin once again told the Danish ambassador that Russia  strongly objects to the Chechen congress, which is scheduled for October 28-29 in Copenhagen.

Valery Loshchinin stressed that “the provocative anti-Russian action would have very serious consequences for Russia-Denmark bilateral relations, which will inevitably mean a step back in relations between the two countries.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry thinks that the Denmark authorities consolidate with Chechen terrorists, such attitude to the terrorism problem contradicts to the UN Security Council anti-terrorist resolution #1373. And the ministry adds that the Russia-EU summit won’t be held in Denmark if the World Chechen Congress  takes place there.
