How Russia puts ‘nuclear’ dots above US

Russia has suspended one of these days cooperation agreement with the US on research and development in nuclear and energy spheres, which was signed in Vienna on 16 September 2013. Beside that, Russia may break cooperation with the US on a range of other directions, on the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Program, according to which Moscow and Washington jointly monitor maintenance of nuclear substances and control their quantity. Agreement on peaceful atom, which creates a legal base for long-term US-Russia cooperation in the field of civil nuclear energy, extension of commercial opportunities for both Russian and US industry, is also in question. Russia may also exit from the agreement with the EU on reduction of nuclear missiles - Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, which established balance of common armed forces of two military and political unions at a lower level, and limited opportunities to deploy their common weapons along the contact line of the blocks at the same time.
The reason of such decision to freeze the agreement is the US' reducing cooperation with Russia in the field of nuclear power.
