On May 9, 2016, Russia marked 71 years since the end of the Great Patriotic War, in which the USSR defeated Nazi Germany and liberated the world from fascism. Every year ever since, Russia holds large-scale military parades on Red Square in Moscow on May 9th to pay tribute to the grand victory. This year, as many as 200 units of military hardware and over 10,000 troops took part in the parade.
