US wants Greece to close airspace for Russian aircraft

Greek Foreign Ministry confirmed that the United States had sent a request to close the airspace of Greece for the Russian aircraft carrying Russian humanitarian cargo to Syria. Athens have not responded to the States yet. An employee of the Greek Foreign Ministry said that the request was received and the Greek authorities were looking into it. Should Greece agree with the United States not to let Russian aircraft fly above the Greek territory, Athens may withdraw the previously issued permit.
