Russians disgusted by United States

During the last 25 years, the reputation of the United States has declined considerably in the eyes of Russians, a recent poll by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center said.

The first association that occurs to Russians when they think of the United States is President Barack Obama. Four percent of the polled Russians said that the States is an aggressor and Russia's prime enemy. Two percent believe that Washington is the source of anti-Russian ideology.  Another two percent said that they feel aversion, hatred and disgust towards the United States. Only one percent of respondents said that America was a strong and rich nation. A little bit more people were ready to acknowledge the USA as a superpower.

Many Russians also pointed out issues of racial discrimination and the gap between the rich and the poor in the United States. America, the respondents believe, is a the country of "high crime and moral decline" where there is no human warmth between people.
