Soccer round-up on eve of Champions League

Barcelona top with a maximum 18 points, ahead of Atlético de Madrid (16) and Málaga CF (14). Real moves up to sixth after beating Deportivo Coruña 5-1. Barça turned the result around at Sevilla after losing 2-0, winning 3-2. Atlético beat Espanyol 1-0 away; Málaga thrashed Bétis 4-0.

Serie A 6 games

Juventus and Napoli ahead on 16, Inter Milano and Lazio on 12 after 6 games. Juve thrashed Roma 4-1, Napoli came away from Sampdoria with a 1-0 win; Inter beat Fiorentina 2-1, the same result between Lazio and Siena.

Bundesliga 6 games

FC Bayern Munich (18) and Eintracht Frankfurt (16) lead the Bundesliga after the results Bremen 0 Bayern 2; Eintracht 2 Freiburg 1.

Ligue 1 7 games

Olympique de Marseille remains ahead of the pack with 18 points despite a 4-1 drubbing at Valenciennes; PSG now moves up to second with 15 points after a 2-0 win against Sochaux and Olympique Lyonnais is third on 14 after losing at home 2-0 to Bordeaux.

Russian Premier League 10 games

It's Anzhi Makkachkala ahead on 23 points (2-1 against Volga), two ahead of CSKA Moskva (0-2 in the Moscow derby with Dinamo) with Lokomotiv one point behind on 20 (1-1 at Zenit).

Portuguese Premier League 5 games

Benfica and FC Porto on 11, Sporting Clube de Braga on 10. Benfica beat Paços de Ferreira away 2-1; FC Porto drew 2 apiece at Rio Ave; Braga won away 2-0 in the local derby at Guimarães.

Shakhtar Donetsk remains ahead in Ukraine, 2-1 winners over Dnipro, with 30 points now from 10 games.
