Woods was leaving his home around 2:30 a.m. (EST) in his SUV, a 2009 Cadillac Escalade, when he collided with a hedge, a fire hydrant, and then a tree. The police said that the crash was not alcohol-related, but conducted an investigation. Woods was taken to the hospital and treated for minor lacerations on his face. He was later cited for careless driving.

The accident reportedly took place after Elin Nordergen, the golfer’s wife, heard the news saying that her husband had been cheating on her. The woman supposedly grabbed a golf club and started chasing the unfaithful husband. Woods jumped into his SUV and attempted to drive away, but could not steer.
