Who can make more than 10,000 dollars a month in Russia?

As a rule, professional specialists may receive big wages working at the companies experiencing a significant rise in their activities and development. If a company is progressing, it inevitably comes across a need of professional employees who already have a similar work experience and can thus use their knowledge to bring higher earnings to this or that organization.

“Only one or two percent of managers can make about $10,000 a month in Russia. They are usually directors, either general directors or executive officers, etc, of large enterprises or holdings with up to 5,000 personnel. They can be both Russian and foreign companies,” Alexey Churkin, the chairman of the North-Western Department of Personnel Counseling Agency said.

Such high salaries are extremely rare in Russia. They can be paid to those specialists, whose work experience is highly valued and cannot be replaced with anyone else’s in a city in particular or in a country on the whole. There can be occasions when several companies start fighting for one specialist trying to win him or her over to their side offering higher wages to the person.

“For one of our clients we have recently selected a financial director with a monthly paycheck of $16,000 and all possible benefits. The position was given to a young man in his early thirties. The man has an experience of anti-crisis management and working with significant numbers on bank accounts and stock exchanges. Here is another example: An IT Director in a large industrial company receives $13,000 every month. This is a 38-year-old man capable of executing a project to launch a complex automated system,” a manager of another employment agency said.

The field of retail sales is considered to be the most lucrative (in terms of salaries) jobs in present-day Russia. Telecommunications, construction, oil and gas industry and logistics have similar job opportunities which is explained with an active development of the industries nowadays.

Top managers in retails can make from $10,000 to $20,000 a month with $7,000-12,000 going to their deputies. However, there can be only a few of such experienced specialists found in a whole city. That is why they prefer to change their jobs only if they see higher profit in another enterprise.

A Russian specialist making more than $10,000 a month is usually a man between 35-50 years of age having higher education, MBA degree, fluent English, high professionalism in his field and an extensive work experience.
