The biggest aqua park with tsunami waves and worshiping chambers to be constructed in Chechnya

Ksenia Sobchak and Ramzan Kadyrov lay the foundation of the biggest aqua park in Chechnya

The biggest aqua park to be constructed in the Chechen town of Gudermes. A time capsule containing a message from the new generation of Chechens has been cemented into the building's foundation by Ramzan Kadyrov (late Chechen leader's son) and Ksenia Sobchak.

The recreation center is going to occupy a territory the size of ten football fields right in the downtown Gudermes. It will take about approximately two years to finish the project. The center will also be surrounded by a major movie theater, a bowling center and a stadium along with a luxurious hotel nearby.

According to ej.ru, “…black Hummer stops in the middle of a deserted valley… An armed man is the first one to exit the car. Russia’s hero Ramzan Kadyrov, who is also armed, follows him. Then another gunmen exits followed by Ms. Ksenia Sobchak (Russian blonde diva) wearing a light dress. Kadyrov is smiling, the lady also tries to smile while constantly looking over her shoulder…”.

TV cameras are zooming in on Ms. Sobachak and Ramzan Kadyrov holding shovels as they are about to dig a hole in the ground and place a time capsule containing messages of the Chechen people to the future generations inside. The capsule to be extracted within half a century. Until then, its content will remain a mystery.

One of the main attractions of the aquaa park will be the so-called "Side-Winder": a grand 10-meter-high U-shaped slope, which resembles a gigantic tsunami wave. The Chechen aqua park will also contain several pools with artificial waves as well as swimming pools with bubbles. “This is going to be a unique recreation center,” stated director of the company “A-Engineering Vitali Savchenko. “A-Engineering” has developed the project with Amusement Leisure Worldwide.

“We have taken into account the fact that Chechnya is a Muslim republic. Religious women could attend the facility with their children during specially designated time periods. The facility will also be equipped with specially designated worshiping chambers,” noted Savchenko.

The aqua park will cost about 6-7 million USD. The money has been provided by Akhmat Kadyrov's Charity Fund.

As it has been noted by Chechen Prime Minister Sergei Abramov, the amusement park will also be able to attract lots of tourists in future, reports Izvestia.

However, it is doubtful that tourists will have any desire to go visit Chechnya any time soon. Last year’s collapse of “Transvaal park” in Moscow left Russia with only two remaining open air aqua parks. One of them is in Samara. The other was opened in December 2003 by the north pole in Vedyaevo.
