Tatu More Popular Than Michael Jackson in Japan

Their album has sold 1.8 million copies
Notorious Russian pop duo Tatu has recently set a record in Japan. Russian girls Julia Volkova and Lena Katina have left Michael Jackson, Celine Dion and even the Beatles in the dust: the duo has become more popular in Japan than he is. About 1.8 million copies of their record 200 Km in the Wrong Lane have already been sold, according to the Tokyo branch of Universal Music.

Only two American pop divas - Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston - have managed to sell 1.8 albums in Japan. Universal Music is certain that the Russian duo will soon set a 2-million record. The music company was very impressed with the fantastic success of Tatu's album, which was enhanced by their interview and video. The special Japanese edition of the CD sold 300,000 copies within two days in Japan, Itar-Tass reported.

Japanese Tatumaniais expected to explode when the two Russian girls come to Tokyo. At present, the plan is to travel to Japan on June 25th-30th, to shoot a new video, to appear on television and to take part in several promotional activities.
