80 Russian publishing houses are to display their production at the 15th International Book Fair in Skopje, due to open today in the Macedonian capital. This year the majority of featured Russian books belong to scientific and popular science literature.
Visitors will get to know several thousand Russian encyclopaedias, reference books and monographs on humanities and sciences. Russian-published newspapers and magazines are also widely presented.
Macedonian specialists estimate that the Russian language is regaining its popularity in the country. For instance, there are over 300 students learning Russian at the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management of the Bitola University.
